Zhang Hui Xin is one of the famous numismatist in Taiwan, who is renown for his in-depth Chinese Sycee study, as well as sycee collection. His two sycee related publications including
  • Zhong Guo Yin Ding (Chinese Sycee, published in 1988) and
  • Zhong Guo Huo Bi Chuan Ji (The Legends of Chinese Currency, published in 1993)
    • are now known as the most critical reference books for Chinese speaking sycee collectors. Furthermore, with his assistance, another 2 sycee related books in Taiwan were able to be published; these two books are
  • Shu Yin Tang Shou Zang Yuan Bao Qian Zhong Tu Lu
    1000 Varieties of Chinese Sycee Collection of Shu Yin Tang, 1988,
    authored by Chen Hong Bin Chen Hong Bin, and
  • Wan Qing Chuan Ji Huo Bi - Yun Nan Pai Fang Ding Kao
    The Legendary Currency in Late Ching Dynasty - A Study on Yunnan Saddle Sycee, 1996,
    authored by Dai Xue Wen Stephen Tai.
    • Zhang is also the publisher of those two books [ again, with Zhang’s kindly assistance of providing me with many photos from his collection, I am able to write and enrich my another illustrated sycee book (to be published in 1st quarter of 1999)].

    Zhang’s sycee collection is numerous; it includes more than 350 items of Chinese sycee attributed to different periods and places; it can be regarded as one of the most important private collection on Chinese sycee in the contemporary world, and can even compete with any sycee hoard treasured in any major museums.
