Symbols on the reverse of the Chia Ch'ing T'ung Pao (Ch'ing Dynasty, a.d.1796-1820)
- two Swards, a constellation, a Scorpio (??? - look at the next comment),
a Moon and a Sun.
You can to compare above charm with image from book N 6 from literature list: there are showed a Turtle and a Snake that looks like a Scorpio. There is opinion that at the bottom of the charm are showed a Turtle and a Snake in copulating. It is special symbol in Chinese culture, but I don't know what it means. |
