  • In August 1884, Emperor Ham Nghi was on the throne, then he left the Imperial City in July 1885 to lead the revolution to fight against the French. The first batch of Ham Nghi's cash coin was not been minted completely. Only 40 quan (about 24000 cash coins) have been done and kept in the Treasury before the French seized them. There was no large-sized copper, silver or gold Ham Nghi's coin minted at all.
