Peculiarities of cast and metal points to the XIX^th or early XX^th Century date of issue of this item.

Purpose of issue is unknown.

Looks like a late Ming Dynasty coin issued by a private entity. Could be for gambling or some other purpose. Possibly Emperor Chung Zhen's time (1628-1644 a.d.) or thereabouts.
